One of my recent couples, Michael and Alita, planned a secret proposal in Lofoten.
We carefully chose a location and created a simple plan so everything would feel smooth and stress-free.
But when the day came… it was raining.
And honestly? That didn’t ruin anything.
Lofoten is not only beautiful on sunny, cloudless days. It also has a completely different kind of magic in changing weather—misty mountains, dramatic skies, and a more intimate atmosphere.
I arrived early, took my position, and pretended to be a tourist while waiting for them to arrive.

After Hamnøy, we headed to one of Lofoten’s stunning Arctic beaches.
And yes… it started raining again.
But Michael and Alita had the best attitude.
They ran, laughed, got a little wild, and fully embraced the moment.
That’s the thing about Lofoten—if you let go of needing everything to be perfect, it often becomes even better.
Some of the most fun and natural photos happen in weather like this.
A Coffee Break… and Then Sunshine
We stopped at a nearby café for a warm drink and a little pause.
And just a few minutes later…
The clouds opened.
The rain disappeared.
The sun came out.
Classic Lofoten.
Within only a couple of hours, we had experienced rain, wind, calm light, and sunshine—all in one day.
Then we headed back out for final photos on the beach in the most magical light.
