Suprise Proposal
Surprise engagement photoshoot in Lofoten — capture the moment you say “yes” with epic mountain and fjord backdrops.
As a local photographer I’ll guide you to the best spots and help plan every detail so your surprise moment is perfect.
We can choose a show‑stopping view like Reinebringen, the iconic red rorbuer in Hamnøy, the traditional fisherman cabins in Sakrisøy—or keep it intimate at a hidden, secret spot just for the two of you.
How it Works
Contact me and I’ll help you plan every detail of your surprise engagement in Lofoten — from choosing the perfect spot to timing it for the midnight sun or the northern lights. As a local photographer I’ll suggest locations that suit your vision (iconic viewpoints, cosy fishing villages, or a secret, intimate spot) and we’ll build a plan that works with the weather and light. Once everything is set, I’ll arrive at the location early and capture the proposal discreetly — paparazzi‑style from a distance so the surprise stays secret. After the proposal I’ll step in for relaxed portraits of you both, guiding you with gentle prompts to get natural, beautiful images. I’ll handle the logistics, timing, and backup plans so you can focus on the moment

We’ll choose a scenic outdoor location in Lofoten that fits your vision — dramatic mountain viewpoints, quiet beaches, picturesque fishing villages, or a secret, intimate spot. As a local photographer I’ll suggest options like iconic overlooks, red rorbuer, or tucked-away bays and we’ll pick the best place based on light and logistics.

I capture the moment discreetly — paparazzi-style from a distance — so the surprise stays intact. I’ll arrive early, find the best hiding spot, and blend in until the moment. After the proposal I step in for relaxed portraits and candid shots, guiding you gently so the photos feel natural.

Yes — both are possible and magical in their own way. For a midnight sun proposal we’ll schedule around the long summer light; for aurora proposals we’ll target clear, dark winter nights and keep a flexible window for the best forecast. I help plan timing and backup options for weather and aurora activity.
-
Lofoten’s moody weather often makes for dramatic photos, so light rain or wind is usually fine. If conditions are truly unsafe or impossible, we’ll reschedule to the next feasible time. I always build a Plan B into our timeline so you still get beautiful images even if the weather changes.

Book as early as possible — popular dates (summer and prime aurora season) fill quickly. Aim to secure your photographer at least a few months ahead if you can; for very specific dates (midnight sun weekends, holiday periods) earlier is better. Once you confirm, I’ll prepare the contract and planning checklist.

A typical surprise proposal session includes discreet capture of the moment, a short portrait session after the proposal, and detailed planning help. You’ll receive around 70 high-resolution, professionally edited images via an online gallery within the agreed delivery time.

Absolutely — we can arrange for a small group to join once the surprise is revealed, or plan a separate meet-up nearby. If you want friends or family hidden nearby to celebrate, I’ll coordinate logistics so everyone knows where to wait and how to join the photos naturally.

Yes! Lofoten is a great place for dogs, and we love furry friends. Just keep in mind that some locations may have sheep or reindeer nearby, so it's best if your pup is on a leash.

We don’t offer transportation as part of the photosessions, but we can suggest parking spots and how to get to the location. If you need help arranging a taxi or transport, we can point you in the right direction!
